CHAPTER 1

1.1    RESEARCH BACKGROUND

This research is about designing the seerah with applying taxonomy. Seerah is refer to the biography of an individual, mentioning the various aspect of his or her life, including the individual’s family and history, or pforound events of that individual’s life. According to  Abul-Mundir ibn Shaker aal Is’haaq from the article “The Important of Learning Seerah”, seerah is comes in the arabic language from “sayyara”, meaning to speak of events of the past. In Islam,it is commonly but not necessarily restricted to the life and events of the final Messenger of Allah, Muhammad ibn ‘Abdillah(s.a.w).

The other word, seerah is an accepted fact in Islam. Knowledge of seerah, is important in the life of every founder of knowledge and is an integral part of understanding Islam. Its because we use the Quran and sunnah as the frame of reference for understanding every practicel life. Either the seerah is was written  for a long time of the religious leader or the followers added and distorted desirable information.

1.2    PROBLEM STATEMENT

Currently, so many seerah in the internet but it does not applying taxonomy.

1.3    AIM

To produced a standard of hierarchical structure for e-seerah and can help user in searching the seerah. 

1.4    OBJECTIVE OF RESEARCH

1.      To identify the concept of seerah.

2.      To categorize the seerah.

3.      To develope the taxonomy for seerah.

1.5    SCOPE OF RESEARCH

The scope of this project will be focus on the designing the e-seerah with applying the taxonomy. The main users of this system is teachers,parents and children.This project only focus at the hierarchical of structure of seerah where the seerah  is group based on name, timeless(era) and places.

1.6    PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE

By applying the taxonomy for e-seerah, all users will better understanding the arrangement of seerah. This system will ensure faster processing of searching.
